Una tea room a Siena: ll 2023 è il 24° anno della Tea Room, quasi un quarto di secolo! Un luogo un po’ fuori dal tempo e dal mondo. Quasi nascosto in un angolino di Siena antica, (dietro Piazza del Mercato) appena entrati potremmo essere ovunque. A Istanbul, o in un bistrot Parigino o anche in un locale Viennese… (un piccolo video qui)
Tanti i viaggiatori che sono passati di qui ! E quanti si sono innamorati sui divanetti della Tea Room , magari da studenti, e 10 anni dopo sono tornati da sposati.
Numerosi anche attori, registi, artisti o musicisti che qui hanno preso un tè o un drink , silenziosi e in disparte, senza farsi notare , insegnandoci che più si è grandi e meno si ha bisogno di ostentare.
Una sala da tè elegante ma informale dove trovare una ampia scelta di tè e dolcini fatti dal proprietario, Ilario che sempre consiglia l’abbinamento migliore. Un locale che mi ricorda il Cappellaio Matto di “Alice nel Paese delle meraviglie” ma anche una sala da tè della vecchia Europa .…
Qui il tè è servito ai piccoli tavoli, in teiere e tazzine scompagnate, ciascuna con uno charme tutto suo e combinate insieme con arte! Qui si parla sottovoce, si può venire a prendere un tè e leggere oppure, qualche volta si trova della musica dal vivo.
Una curiosità
Alla Tea Room potete trovare oltre 100 teiere, collezionate nei tanti viaggi fatti da Ilario, il proprietario. E le teiere , con le loro forme insolite, non ricordano forse le lampade di Aladino? Magiche e un po’ misteriose?
Ma forse non tutti sanno che qui, ad ogni cliente, viene “assegnata” una diversa teiera in base al sesso, all’età e al tipo di sensazione caratteriale che trasmettono … 
Così, ogni volta che ordinate un tè o una tisana, non troverete solo una bevanda calda , ma anche una vera coccola, un piccolo pensiero personalizzato per voi in forma di teiera!
Chissà che scaldandovi le mani attorno ad una di queste non si avveri pure qualche desiderio!

2023 is the Tea Room’s 24th year, almost a quarter of a century! A timeless place that seems out of this world. Almost hidden away in an old corner ofSiena, (behind Piazza del Mercato) as soon as we enter, we have the impression that we could be anywhere: in Istanbul, or in a Parisian bistro or even in a café in Wien …
So many travelers have come here! And how many of them , maybe students, fell in love right on the sofas of the TeaRoom, and then ,10 years later, came back as husbands and wives.
Many actors, directors, artists and musicians too among the many clients who had tea here, quietly, without being noticed, teaching us that the more gifted and brilliant one is, the less he/she needs show off.
An elegant but informal tea room where you can find a wide selection of teas and sweets made by the owner, Ilario who always recommends you the best pairing. A place that reminds me of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland but also of an old European tea room .…
Here tea is served at small tables, in mismatched teapots and cups, each with its own charm and artistically arranged on the table! Here people speak softly, almost whispering. You can come for tea and stay with a book , other times you may find live music.
A curiosity
At the Tea Room you can find over 100 different teapots , all collected by Ilario, the owner, during his travels.
Have you ever thought how teapots , with their unusual shapes, remind us of Aladdin’s magic lamp? Magical and a little mysterious?
Perhaps not everyone knows that here, each customer is “assigned” a different teapot, based on gender, age and..the vibes they exude … Thus, every time you order a tea or herbal tea, not only you will find a hot drink, but also a real treat, something prepared especially for you in the form of a teapot!
Who knows, maybe, while warming up your hands around one of these, your wishes may come true!

2023, c’est la 24e année du Salon de Thé, près d’un quart de siècle ! Un endroit hors du temps et hors du monde. Presque caché dans un coin de l’ancienne Sienne, (derrière la Piazza del Mercato) dès qu’on entre on a l’impression qu’pourrait être n’importe où, à Istanbul, ou dans un bistrot parisien ou même dans un café viennois…
De nombreux voyageurs sont passés par ici ! Il y a un bon nombre parmi eux , peut-être en tant qu’étudiants , qui sont tombés amoureux sur les canapés de la TeaRoom, et, 10 ans plus tard, sont revenus ici mariés.
Il y a aussi de nombreux acteurs, metteurs en scène, artistes ou musiciens qui ont pris un thé ou un verre ici, sans se faire remarquer, nous apprenant que plus on est doué, moins on a besoin de se montrer.
Un salon de thé élégant mais informel où vous pouvez trouver une large sélection de thés et de gâteaux préparés par le propriétaire, Ilario, qui nous propose toujours le meilleur accord. Un lieu qui rappelle le Chapelier Fou d’Alice au Pays des Merveilles mais aussi un ancien salon de thé européen.…
Ici, le thé est servi dans des théières et des tasses dépareillées, chacune avec son propre charme et alliée à l’art ! Ici, les gens parlent à voix basse, vous pouvez boire un thé avec un bon livre ou parfois vous pouvez écouter de la musique live.
Une curiosité
Chez la Tea-Roome à Sienne, vous trouvez plus de 100 théières collectées au cours des nombreux voyages effectués par Ilario, le propriétaire.
Avez-vous déjà pensé que les théières, avec leurs formes curieuses, rappellent la lampe d’Aladino ? Magique et un peu mystérieuse ?
Peut-être que tout le monde ne sait pas qu’ici pour chaque client on choisit une théière différente en fonction de son sexe, de son âge et du type de sentiment qu’il/elle transmit…
Il est alors possible, chaque fois que vous commandez un thé ou une tisane, de trouver non seulement une boisson chaude, mais un vrai régal, une petite pensée personnalisée pour vous sous forme de théière !
